Buggy

Anecdote

One of the problems with leaving windows open to try get some air in during a heatwave is that it's not just air that comes in. Passers-by may also take the opportunity to escape the sun.

This critter appeared on our wall yesterday.

It was about 3cm and looks like some kind of grasshopper or cricket. I would have picked it up by hand if it didn't have that nasty-looking spike at the back, so I used a plastic cup instead.

This was not a good idea, as the plastic cup crumpled and the insect escaped. Fortunately, it fell into a cobweb so it was easy to capture.

I don't know what I'd have done if it had been a pigeon.
