Anecdote
Recently, I mentioned an article I read in an ancient issue of Games and Puzzles. Some people (OK, two people) asked if I could scan the article in question, so I have done: it's here.
Reading through it, it's less inspiring today than it was to 14-year-old me, because so much has happened since then. Back in 1974, though, it was a revelation! It showed that some of the things I wanted to do were actually doable. I remember finding the existence of an in-game newspaper, the Shadizar Herald, particularly exciting.
I'm left wondering where the 14-year-olds of today go to find their imaginations fired.
