Out or Out

Anecdote

I've been having trouble with my upper left incisor for years. It's had root canal treatment, a cap, a post; it's been removed and replaced by an implant; the bridge next to it has been removed and replaced. I still, however, have a problem.

Today, I had a 3D scan of my upper jaw done (£150, or free if I wanted to wait probably a few months and go to London). It seems that the problem is an abscess on the back of it. Cutting open my hard palette and my gum and cleaning it out isn't something that can be done under local anaesthetic, so I'm going to have to have it done under sedation.

Damn. The last time I had a general anaesthetic I was aged about 6. I remember counting up to 10 and actually getting up to 10. I don't think I take well to them.

Still, at least I'll still be half asleep when my wife drives me home afterwards. Every cloud has a silver lining.
