Following yesterday's mention of the mystery male 1930s film star from the card game Jigstar, I received an email from QBlog reader Richard Clayton which solved the mystery: it's Freddie Bartholomew, dressed in his Little Lord Fauntleroy costume from the movie of that name released in 1936. This picture of him pretty well seals it.
He wasn't in either of the Album of Film Stars books my dad sent, so that's my excuse for not recognising him...
