Anecdote
Although I was under the impression that I was supposed to be on a United Airlines flight, it turned out to be Continental. The last time I flew Continental, I used the opportunity to watch Citizen Kane for the first time in my life; this time (I'm on the plane as I type this) I watched Casablanca for the first time in my life.
Hmm, it was obvious what was going to happen in it, and I recognised the famous lines from the clips I'd seen. I was surprised, however, by the scene in which the Germans are singing in Rick's Café Americaine and then the French start singing the Marseillaise; that was pretty damned good.
So, that's another hole in my cultural life sealed up. Maybe next I'll watch one of the strangely many martial arts movies they have on this flight...
