Little Room

Weird

I heard on the radio today that Russians have the smallest houses in Europe, which struck me as a bit strange given that their country is so big. The country with the second-smallest houses is the UK.

I also heard on the radio that the French have the most rooms in their houses in Europe. The country with the second-most rooms per house is the UK.

Hmm, so this means that here in the UK we have very small houses with large numbers of rooms, which means we must have very, very small rooms.

This doesn't stop furniture shops from showing us 3-piece suites that would look good in a barn-sized house but wouldn't bend through the doors of normal houses.

Isn't it weird how in English we say "the French" but "Russians"?
