I guess they're called "modesty panels" as they're a means to stop people from dropping pencils on the floor so they can look up colleagues' skirts.

Well, it turns out that there is a difference between desks 2 and 3. I received an email from QBlog reader Eric Scheid pointing out a subtle but tell-tale line:
