An email was sent out to everyone in the Computing and Electronic Systems department last week, forwarding a request for technical help from an author. Here's the gist of it:

I need to know how an organisation with infinite funds could find two women late in their pregnancies. The organisation has few geographical clues from prophesy, but knows the exact moment of conception because of an alignment of planets. The women live in Land's End and John O'Groats. They must be located using state-of-the-art equipment from between September 1992 and May 1993.

With infinite funds, surely they need only interview every person in the country? Or offer half an infinite amount of pounds as a reward for information?

Hmm, the hints at what's in the plot suggest there may be problems beyond those of a technical nature, unless it's intended to be a parody of some kind...
