Wedding

Anecdote

I was at a wedding today.

It was a four-hour drive away, at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. Only by, ahem, driving at 10 miles an hour slower than the people who were overtaking me did I manage to get home in time to write this and thereby keep up my QBlog post-a-day record.

The wedding starred two MUD2 players, Foddy (Richard Underwood) and Karya (Kate, er, I guess Underwood now). It was one of the best weddings I've been to, but then given it was in a damned CASTLE it had a head start. There were suits of armour everywhere, including horse armour and child armour, and some swords that looked like they could be used for sawing down trees. Very impressive. I managed to park my car in a Landrover franchise yard instead of the castle grounds, but discovered my error in time when I asked a Scandinavian woman carrying a paddle where I should be going.

I'm not going to wax lyrical about the wedding, because you were either there or you aren't interested (or, I suppose, you are interested but weren't invited so you're bitter about the whole thing and are planning on sabotaging one of their skis when they go on honeymoon to Canada next week). I will say, though, that I wasn't the only MUD2 person there other than the bride and groom, which I thought was very good of Richard & Kate. They met in the game, and that's where many of their friends are, and we got to come too.

It makes a change: normally, MUD2 is responsible only for divorces...

I ran out of battery in my camera, so couldn't take many pictures. I did take this one, though, of a portrait hanging on the wall:

Now there's an artist who can't draw hands...
