I received an unexpected email yesterday from the Highways Authority, telling me that the B1508 bridge over the A12 is being replaced. The old one will be demolished this month and they'll build a new one early in 2007. It looks as if they've gone with a design that has superfluous arches, but frankly I'd be happy with a rope bridge if it had two lanes instead of the one we've been stuck with for the past several years.
