I'm back from my holidays now, and have uploaded all the stuff I wrote while away. If you want to read it in order, it starts here.
I can receive email on mud.co.uk again, the problem having been caused because it had apparently been used to spam AOL with emails. I don't quite know how that happened, given that even if my home PC were compromised I don't actually use mud.co.uk to send emails (they go out via btinternet.com instead); my suspicion is that it's my hosting service's fault, although of course theirs is that it's mine...
