Anecdote
Ah, local election day. As usual, I cast my entirely ineffectual vote for the Lib Dems, in the hope that it will prevent them from losing their deposit.
There were five people staffing the polling station, all of whom were female. Either that's the case for 1 in 32 polling stations and mine happens to be that 1 in 32, or there's another explanation.
I'm going with the "another explanation" explanation, but I'm not foolish enough to speculate what the explanation might actually be...
