Anecdote
Only 19,175 emails were waiting for me when I got back (plus 62 on my University account). This was enough to crash Microsoft Outlook at 11,500 or so. I couldn't download any more until this morning, when there were 13,137 waiting for me. One of those wasn't the test email I sent myself to ensure that I could still receive emails. Therefore, if you sent something important to mud.co.uk last week and don't hear from me soon, chances are it didn't get here and you should send it again. Try my essex.ac.uk address, where I'm rabartle, if it bounces.
