Anecdote
Normally during the week it's me who makes (which is to say microwaves) my younger daughter's evening meal. However, as her older sister is back from university now, she decided to cook something proper with her grandfather's help. They did some kind of chicken and broccolli and sweet potato thing that my younger daughter really liked.
When she'd finished eating it, she said, "Thanks, Jenny! Thanks, Grandad!". Then she came over to me and said, "Thanks, Dad!".
"But I didn't help with the cooking", I replied.
She smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Dad...".
