Anecdote
The plumber showed up this morning at around 8:45 to fix our boiler.
He left at 4:30, having stripped it down, installed a replacement flow valve, reassembled it and discovered that it hadn't fixed the problem. We still get hot radiators when we switch on the hot water taps. He's called in an engineer from the manufacturer, who will be arriving at an unspecified time on Monday.
In the course of chatting to the plumber (when he wasn't chatting alarmingly to himself), I discovered that he's a Manchester United fan and has a season ticket to all the home games. Manchester is 172 miles from Colchester.
Well they do say that all Manchester United fans live somewhere other than Manchester...
