Anecdote
I went to a networking course at the university today, laid on by the section that does training. That's networking with people, not with computers (and, as it turned out, it didn't involve networking with people by using computers, either).
There were 7 attendees there, plus the instructor. I was the only male present, which rather unbalanced it.
Oh well, I got free sandwiches.
