Lacking Intelligence

Outburst

So, the police are given intelligence telling them a house contains a chemical weapon. They raid it in force, beat up the inhabitants, and then search for the weapon. It subsequently turns out there isn't one. The police somewhat belatedly apologise for the hurt they (and presumably the bullet they fired) caused, and there are calls for the resignation of the Chief of the Metropolitan Police.

I don't think he needs worry. If ordering a violent adventure to find non-existent weapons of mass destruction on the basis of faulty intelligence was a crime, the Prime Minister would be in the dock.

The two blokes who were arrested seem really nice guys, too. Maybe that'll be his undoing...
