We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 yesterday. Johnny Depp plus set pieces = entertainment! I think maybe there were some other actors in it, too.
The reviews I'd read beforehand said it was too long and should have been edited down. I didn't find it too long at all: I found it too short. It's almost exactly like an end-of-season two-part episode of a TV programme, with no plot resolution whatsoever, and definitely not stand-alone.
Still, it has Johnny Depp and set pieces. I was entertained.
The the last episode of Dr Who, the second part of which aired on Saturday, was all that Dr Who should be. Daleks with a sense of humour: you can't ask for more than that.
