Anecdote

The chap came and looked at my ill car, and diagnosed a short-circuit in the battery. It currently (don't you love these puns?) has his battery in it while he organises a replacement. That should arrive within the hour at his workshop, whereupon I am to take along my car to have it installed.

Here's where his workshop is:

"You know the phone box opposite the shop? You turn left there, go past the housing estate and then the road forks, ignore that, just keep on into the farm, over the speed bumps, you go past 6 or 7 lock-ups with maroon-coloured doors, and you turn left where the white Ford Transit is parked. My workshop is behind there."

My whole life is just one comedy sketch after another.
